Cucumber
Tuesday, July 31, 2007Cucumbers can be pickled for taste and longer shelf life. As compare to eating cucumbers, pickling cucumbers tend to be shorter, thicker, less regularly-shaped, and have rough skin with tiny white- or black-dotted spines. They are not at all waxed. Color can be different from creamy yellow to pale or dark green. Pickling cucumbers are sometimes sold fresh as "Kirby" or "Liberty" cucumbers. The pickling practice removes or degrades a large amount of the nutrient content, particularly that of vitamin C. Pickled cucumbers are waterlogged in vinegar or brine or a combination, often along with a mixture of spices.
• English cucumbers can cultivate as long as 2 feet. They are nearly seedless and are sometimes marketed as "Burp less."
• Japanese cucumbers (kyūri) are mild, deep green, slenderand have a bumpy, ridged skin. They can be used for slicing, pickling, salads, etc., and are available year-round.
• Mediterranean cucumbers are smooth-skinned, small and mild. Like the English and Mediterranean cucumbers are nearly seedless.

Worldwide charity record made at La Cala Golf
Monday, July 23, 2007This was no ordinary golf tournament though, as over 11,000 Euros was raised for the very worthwhile charity Unicef .
All players who participated in the completion will agree that the massive organisation required to make this event a success was absolutely spot on and everything from the prearranged parking zones to the internal transport and buggies and course conditions where faultless , my family and I enjoyed the day immensely and are eagerly awaiting its mention in the next edition of the Guinness book or world records.
Well done to La Cala Golf.

Saturday, July 21, 2007Triangular theory of love
Tuesday, July 17, 2007The triangular theory of love describes love in an interpersonal connection on three different scales: intimacy, passion, and commitment. Different stages and types of love can be explained as dissimilar combinations of these three elements; for instance, the relation emphasis of each component changes over point in time as an adult romantic relationship develops. As said by the author of the theory, psychologist Robert Sternberg, a connection or relation based on a single element is less likely to continue to exist than one based on two or more.
Benalmadena Pueblo
Monday, July 16, 2007Benalmadena lies some 19 kms west of Malaga airport and the capital, and sits between Fuengirola and Torremolinos and now has a population of around 45.000. From most parts of Benalmedana you have fantastic views to sea and mountains which has encouraged a rapid growth in holiday homes and investors from around the world with the British citizens being the biggest buyers over the last 5 years.During the summer months the population can grow up to 100.000 with visitors from all over the globe enjoying this hugely popular and vibrant tourist area.
The Benalmadena Marina
There are now some 1.100 moorings for boats and yachts in various different sections of the marina and of all nationalities, although you never get the feeling of being overwhelmed as the distribution has been cleverly designed to provide as much open space between the different birthing areas.
Most days the port is bustling with tourists, boat owners, residents and shopkeepers alike. There is an excellent selection of restaurants , terrace bars, cafeterias dotted all over the marina. Some of which are situated on the second story and perch enticingly over the marina with jaw dropping results. There is most certainly food on offer to suit all tastes and pockets from traditionally Spanish to Indian, Mexican, Italian and much more. The energetic the nightlife carries on in sophisticated bars and clubs and is second to none on the Costa del Sol.
By day you can visit the Aquarium, hire a boat, partake of numerous water sports, including; sailing, scuba diving, kayaking, water skiing. The Marina's Centro Náutico was built and set up to provide a place in the Marina where sailing enthusiasts could meet up and hold sporting events and also to meet socially.
A simple stroll though through the busy port is one of my favourite past times, with its vast array of boats, yachts large and small, luxurious and practical, its many shops, large variety of restaurants and bars, novelty and marine equipment shops and its appealing and pleasing architecture will can keep you interested for many an hour. You may also be lucky and see the small sport fishing boats arriving with there catch of the day displayed on the wooden walkways between the moorings. There’s an old steam ship called the Mississipi Willow you can stroll around when open, it is a real authentic ancient boat which was actually brought to Benalmadena from Mississipi.

Living in a Cave in Spain !!
Sunday, July 15, 2007For anyone that has driven past Granada on their way to the to Almeria or another eastern coastal area of Spain you will have past Guadix and and noted the terrain changes dramatically as the Sierra Nevada mountain range looks majestically over the region. The land starts to become sparse and dessert like, you may also have noticed the cave homes built into the rock face . There are in fact many hundreds of caves in the area including Guadix, Fuente Nueva and Baza and many are now being reformed with surprising results.
If you would like to know more about these unique homes, some of which are many stories in height, several bedrooms and all modern amenities, please check out Iain and Gayle's fascinating web site http://www.livinginacave.com/ where you will find everything you ever wanted to know about living , buying and renovating caves in this beautiful part of Andalucia.

Marketing
Sunday, July 8, 2007Marketing is one of the most significant functions in business. It is the regulation required to understand customers' needs and the benefits they seek. Academia does not have one commonly agreed upon description. Even after a better part of a century the dispute continues. In a nutshell it consists of the social and managerial processes by which goods or services and value are exchanged in order to fulfill the needs and wants of individuals or groups. Although many people appear to think that "marketing" and "advertising" are synonymous, they are not. Advertising is simply one of the lots of processes that together constitute marketing.

CPU Socket
Tuesday, July 3, 2007Most CPU sockets and processors in use today are built around the pin grid array (PGA) architecture, in which the pins on the base of the processor are inserted into the socket. To aid installation, zero insertion force (ZIF) sockets are usually used, allowing the processor to be inserted without any confrontation, while gripping the pins firmly once the processor is in place to ensure a reliable contact. In contrast to CPU sockets, slot-based processors and CPUs use a single-edged connection rather than a socket, and slot into the motherboard on their side. Slot architectures are not often used today
