Another Google Music rumor is making the rounds, but this one, courtesy of the Guardian, seems to have a lot of credibility to it. According to the Guardian, Google's music service is less than two months from launch, and will be part of Android Honeycomb, the tablet-optimized version of Google's mobile OS.

Sanjay Jha, chief executive of Motorola Mobility, spilled the beans himself.

"If you look at Google Mobile services [via Android] today, there's a video service, there's a music service -- that is, there will be a music service," Jha said.

Motorola's Xoom tablet is getting the VIP treatment from Google, serving as the demo unit for Honeycomb's big features. If anyone outside Google is privy to the company's music plans, it's Jha.

I've gotten tired of hearing the Google Music rumors. The rumor mill's been murmuring about a Google digital music service to rival iTunes since at least 2005, and last year, the Google Music rumors picked up speed, with the expectation that Google would have its service ready for the holidays. But this one seems legit.

It is no secret that Google wants in on the whole social media market, they tried with Google Buzz but things have not worked out like they had hoped. However, this has not deterred the search engine goliath and there are fresh rumors of a new service called Google Me. Kevin Rose, the founder of Digg was the first to report this.

Rose started the whole Google Me rumors off when he mentioned late Saturday evening that Google were to offer a new service – one that will compete with Facebook. We do not think that Facebook is too worried, but they should be if Google uses its might and its knowhow to launch a perfect social media service.

Both Google and the social networking giant has refused to comment, but there has to be some truth to the rumor – it would be unwise for us to assume that Google would allow Facebook to have all the glory.

According to Jeremy A. Kaplan from Fox News Google already have a number of components already in place – such as Google Profiles, Buzz and Latitude. Do you think that if Google Me were real would it be able to compete with Facebook?

Microsoft NSDQ: MSFT has responded to Google's claims that Office 2010 and Web Apps lack of cloud-based collaboration capabilities available in Google NSDQ: GOOGle Apps and Google Docs.

"Microsoft delivers the most productive experience and we have results to prove it," said Tracy Overby, Senior Marketing Manager for Microsoft Office Product Management Group, said in an e-mail to CRN. "After more than a decade delivering collaboration solutions that our customers trust us to meet their needs."

But Google argues that Microsoft Office 2010, Microsoft updated productivity software suite, and Web Apps, cloud-based components of Office, cloud versions of Word, Excel and PowerPoint, gives only limited real-time cooperation capabilities in the cloud. Most of the common features that Google says is only available via desktop versions of Office 2010 programs.

To achieve this level of cooperation, but do you? Ll have to rent one of two technologies: SharePoint 2010, which Microsoft released at the same time this week to 2010 Office or SkyDrive, free online storage space offered on Windows Live.

The good news for companies that take bait is that SharePoint 2010 has a lot to offer in addition to support for real-time collaboration.
