The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has expressed a desire to withdraw from all interior locations of the worst-hit Naxal area of Bastar in Chattisgarh, a move opposed by the state police.

Official sources, who referred to this wish by CRPF, said the para-military force has also approached Chhattisgarh Police to provide security to its camps at Narayanpur where 27 security personnel were killed in a Naxal ambush recently.
Immediately after the attack, senior CRPF officials were up in arms and said they would be abandoning the post at Durai road if the state police did not guard the two camps in the area, about 300 km from Raipur.
Around 50 police personnel each were rushed to these two camps, a move which was seen as "strengthening of the camps."
At least 26 CRPF personnel and one state policeman were killed by Maoists on June 29 when they were returning from road opening duties.
The CRPF has also listed four places in Narayanpur and Dantewada from where they would be shifting their base, the sources said, adding initially the para-military forces wanted to shift their camps closer to the National Highways, which was, however, objected to by the state police.
The CRPF has demanded presence of one-third of district police in every operation and for road opening party. A meeting between the state authorities and the CRPF witnessed heated arguments over the issue and it was decided that road opening duty was exclusively of CRPF domain and there would be no local presence, the sources said.
Union Home Minister P Chidambaram has also indicated that the CRPF in Chattishargh needs to be relocated and reconfigured. Taking a cue from this, the CRPF has decided to keep a minimum strength of 200 personnel in each camp.
About the rescue and relief on the June 29 killings, the sources said the state authorities pointed out that no help was received from the two camps which were located within five kilometres of the area. The first rescue team came from a CRPF camp located nine kilometres away.

Debra Jeter, 33, who pleaded guilty Tuesday in Hillsboro to the capital murder and attempted murder capital in an attack that left one of her daughters died and another gravely injured, was transferred Thursday to a Texas Department of Criminal Justice penitentiary unit in Gatesville.

Hill County deputies, Hillsboro police and administration soldiers arrived at an abandoned farm on U.S. 77 just off Interstate 35 and found Debra Jeter in the garage with his hands raised above his head.

Officers then found the 12-year-old Kelsey Leanne Jeter dead inside the house and the 13-year-old Kiersten Leigh Jeter critically injured in a bedroom.

Authorities said Kiersten had a loss of wounds in the back, and had tried to defend his younger sister during the attack.

Debra Jeter escaped the death punishment by pleading guilty to attack.

I cannot understand how a mother can harm her children, let alone kill one of them. I hear about mothers "snap" and bodily harm their children, and I pray for grace that keeps me healthy. I think Debra Jeter will spend the rest of his life in hell when she stays in jail and have a good time to reflect on his revolting events.

In a major breakthrough, the Mumbai Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) Monday under arrest the radical Abdul Samad Bhatkal, is believed to be one of the conspirator in the Mumbai terror attack.

Animals never seize to amaze me, I've read countless stories of heroic dolphins, life-saving dogs, animals that can sense tornado's and warn their owners in time..... Every story I read makes me more and more susceptible to the charms of these remarkable creatures. But every once in a while a story comes along that reminds me that although animals can be man's best friend, there is a very thin line between tame and wild and we would be wise to remember that.

A chimp that was essentially a pet for many years, attacked a woman. Attacked is actually an understatement. He ripped off her hands, nose, lips and eyelids. I apologize for the graphic detail but it wouldn't be the same if I had just said that the chimp attacked her. This was brutal. To make matters worse, all of this could have been avoided if the the owner of the chimp hadn't asked the woman to help her get it back into the house. That is what would play on my mind, what if I hadn't been there? what if I had said no? We spend a lot of time in our lives wondering what if? and unfortunately this woman has quite a few what if's that will haunt her for the rest of her life.

She is, of course, suing for millions but I doubt that money will ever be able to soothe the long journey she has ahead of her. Money can only do so much, the rest is up to her. We all know from our own personal experience how cruel people can be, so when I read that she was going on Oprah, I thought that maybe it would be a good thing. Expose her, as she is, to the masses and appeal to their sympathetic side and maybe people will think twice before reacting in shock or making a hurtful comment.

But then I read a little of the interview and I started to change my mind. She kept saying things like "I don't want to think about it" and "I don't want to remember it" because she can't remember the attack and I realized that she's in the first stage of grief. For those of you that don't know there are five stages. Denial,anger, bargaining, depression and finally acceptance. Clearly, she's in the first stage and although I haven't seen the entire show, maybe it wasn't the right time to air the story. Who knows how she will feel later about showing the world her disfigured face?

All I can say is that we are all given obstacles in our life, some worse than others, and I wish her the best in her journey of recovery.
