If you believe in the sports cosmos—and apparently, if you are the embattled French soccer coach Raymond Domenech, you do—you were pulling for the French golfer Gregory Havret to pull off an upset at the U.S. Open on Sunday, which would have gotten France to stop freaking out about Les Bleus for at least 15 seconds.
But did anyone actually want to win the 2010 Open? We started to wonder after the field began to unravel like an executive retreat still woozy from late-night karaoke in the hotel lounge.
