Operation Petticoat is a 1959 comedy directed by Blake Edwards and starring Cary Grant and Tony Curtis. That was the basis for a TV series in 1977 with John Astin in the Grant role. The movie tells in flashback form the accident of a fictional U.S. submarine USS Sea Tiger in the first days of World War II.
