Now even for this blogger, who will be honest and say she has no real interest in cars, was intrigued and concerned by a new story making headlines. A British driver has set a new record for speeding on a Spanish motorway when he was clocked driving at 168 miles per hour in his sports car, in the southern province of Granada on Wednesday morning!
I feel a little conficted here, I'm not sure if I should be flaming mad or quiet impressed at the speed of a Ferarri California, yes that's the sports car....pause for effect.... I can almost hear the panting of every male reading this.
Now he was in a 75mph zone and a police spokesman had this to say, "It is rare to catch anyone driving at more than 124 mph, but to reach the speed of this driver is completely unheard of." wow. The man in question is Alan Mcgregor Heron who is 56 and is clearly trying desperately to hold onto his youth.
He was fined 3,600 euros and had his license confiscated, obviously. But the question I want to ask is, if this man can afford to purchase a Ferarri California, surely he can afford to pay the fine?
Now as impressed as I am at this marvelous piece of machinery and the speed is admittedly a bit of a turn on, it's just not smart to be a reckless driver, anything can go wrong at any moment and he could have landed up killing himself or others. A harsher punishment is called for in this case, in my opinion. 123.....lecture over....
Personally I would prefer to take a slow and leisurely drive while listening the the number one information station, Tourism Radio.
