Last week I wrote a blog about the Pamplona Bull Run and how disgusted it makes me that people could be stupid enough to take part in something as barbaric as this so called "festival", I even got a comment from a like minded individual, gives me some kind of hope for humanity. So as I scoured the news this morning, trying to find something inspirational to write about, my bubble of positivity was burst when I came across a story about a man that died on Friday, one guess as to how that happened....
A bull by the name of Capuchino was separated from the other Bulls, became disorientated and aggressive and gored the man to death. This means that the Bull's horns pierced the mans neck and lungs and he died. How much worse does this have to get before someone, in their right mind, puts a stop to it?? 9 other people were seriously injured.
The Mayor, Yolanda Barcina, is said to be devastated by what happened. Are you kidding?? Someone tell this woman it was inevitable and then get her a dictionary so she can figure out what that means! In the article I was reading, this was said "Fuelled by alcohol during what has become one of Europe's biggest street parties, participants test their bravado and sprint alongside the bulls while attempting to dodge their horns." When the Mayor's looking up the word inevitable, she'll find this written under the definition of stupid.
There is nothing brave about this, a man lost his life and countless others before him and how many animals have been tortured and killed in the name of entertainment? This shocks and saddens me. I know Ive said this before but I can't help but ramble on about this, now I understand the frustration that PETA activists are going through, I think I'm going to have to strip down to my birthday suit and join the ranks to get some results on this, like an outright ban. STOP THE BULL RUN!!! STOP THE IDIOCY!!!! Stupid is clearly contagious, let's rid ourselves of the epidemic and put civilized back into society.
