Monday, February 28, 2011
H88.com.sg, 1 Mar 2011The NUS’s Singapore Residential Price Index (SRPI) has reflected some slightly surprising news — prices of non-landed private homes rose by 2.6%. The increase in prices was expected, but not by this much.Although 2.6% doesn’t sound like it’s a lot, just imagine: 2.6% of a $1 million condo unit works out to an increase of $26k! But yes, 2.6% is rather significant, for two

SriLanka Vs Pakistan [Pakistan vs Sri lanka] Live Highlights Video Online World cup 2011 -26th february 2011

Pakistan will be playing their first big match of the world cup against hosts SriLanka. Pakistani cricket fans are getting nervy, they do not have confidence in their team and fear loss before every encounter.

Team Pakistan and it’s fans should remember only one thing they have beaten Sri Lanka in each of their six encounters in the World Cups and have won their previous five games at the R Premadasa. The fans of Pakistan team and the cricket pundits have been a bit nervous regarding their bowling combination, the form of Shoaib Akhtar and the lack of pace of Abdul Razzaq has been the main concern.

The newly laid pitch at Premadasa stadium has so far been a bat first- low scoring track, the average score at this track has been 225. I think Pakistan still has enough fire power in their bowling even if they don’t make a change they should not drop a batsman against SriLanka as Srilanka is a good bowling side. They can play Riaz in place of Akhtar if he is not fully fit but thats about it.
Play the match like any other match no need to get nervous this match will have little or no consequences on Pakistan’s chances to qualify for the QF, so Afridi & CO should play their natural game and should not take any pressure at all for this match. The pundits might not respect Pakistan team but in my opinion this team has all the firepower to beat any team in this tournament.

All we need is that our key players should play the match with their natural flare. We lose matches when we take pressure and self implode. Pakistan has beaten this SriLankan team on many occasions, they will have a home advantage and a knowledge of the newly laid track to their advantage but if Afridi led the team calmly it will be tough for SriLanka to beat Pakistan team.

What Afridi should realize is that tough matches in the initial round develop or destroy the confidence of the teams, regardless of the result Afridi will have to show calmness as a leader and should continue to encourage his players through thick and thin , he will have to make his players believe that they are the best.

Pakistan (probable): 1 Mohammad Hafeez, 2 Ahmed Shehzad, 3 Kamran Akmal (wk), 4 Younis Khan, 5 Misbah-ul-Haq, 6 Umar Akmal, 7 Shahid Afridi (capt), 8 Abdul Razzaq, 9 Umar Gul, 10 Abdur Rehman, 11 Shoaib Akhtar

Tanu weds Manu movie review: A must watch romantic comedy film.

The upcoming movie of the month “Tanu weds Manu” is release today. This movie is a romantic comedy, which demonstrates how 2 apparently opposite natured people fall in love. In this movie, R Madhavan and Kangna Ranaut are in lead roles.

Tanu weds Manu
Tanu Weds Manu falls far-off short of outlook of yet another Bollywood flick weaving about the tale of a starry eyed NRI falling for a desi girl. Just similar to strangers, director Anand L Rai has lived up to the prospect and given the audience a romantic story narrated in an eccentric and un-clichéd manner.

Tanu is relatively the unruly small-town girl, bold and beautiful with expressions full up with expletives. Append to it her alternative of life partner-a local don.

At the ending, Tanu will wed Manu; so far the tale of the wedding ultimately took place keeps you engaged. Kangana ultimately gets a role in which she sounds persuasive as the rebellious, bold and outspoken Kanpur girl.

So, don’t miss this romantic comedy with Madhavan and Ranaut in this week. Catch this movie in theatre. Keep watching and enjoying!

New Delhi, Feb 25 (Calcutta Tube / IBNS) With an eye on the crucial assembly elections in West Bengal, Railways Minister Mamata Banerjee presented a populist no-hike, Bengal-friendly Railway Budget for 2011-12 amid noisy scenes and protests from Bihar lawmakers.

There was no hike in passenger fare or freight as the Minister presented a populist budget as anticipated.

Mamata Banerjee

On expected lines Mamata Banerjee declared more projects for West Bengal, amid protests by Bihar leaders like Lalu Prasad and Sharad Yadav

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh called it a common man’s budget, while the Opposition criticized it with the communists, her political rivals in West Bengal, slamming the minister for failing to implement the earlier projects she announced.

She said the metro railway network of Kolkata will expand while a metro coach factory will be set up near Singur and a rail industrial park in Nandigram in West Bengal.

She admitted that the Railway is passing through a difficult phase and announced to raise Rs 10,000 crore via bonds.

She also announced shelters for thousands of homeless, giving a human face to the budget.

Across India, however, passengers reacted to lack of safety measures for passengers.

“It is an election budget. I am happy with the projects and trains announced but passenger safety has been ignored as before,” said a commuter at Howrah Station in Kolkata.

A total of 56 new express trains were proposed in the Railway Budget.

Three Shatabdi Trains will be introduced in the coming fiscal year. These proposed new Shatabdis are: Pune-Secunderabad, Jaipur-Agra and Ludhiana-Delhi.

The Minister also announced that two double decker AC services on Jaipur-Delhi and Ahmedabad-Mumbai routes.

Mamata Banerjee has announced the introduction to nine new Duronto Trains across different regions of the country. The proposed Duronto Trains are:Allahabad-Mumbai AC Duronto (bi-weekly); Pune-Ahmedabad AC Duronto (tri-weekly); Sealdah-Puri non AC Duronto (tri-weekly); Secunderabad-Visakhapatnam AC Duronto (tri-weekly); Madurai-Chennai AC Duronto (bi-weekly); Chennai-Thiruvananthapuram AC Duronto (bi-weekly);
Mumbai Central-New Delhi AC Duronto (bi-weekly); Nizamuddin-Ajmer non-AC Duronto (bi-weekly) and Shalimar-Patna Duronto (tri-weekly).

Mamata Banerjee announced that 1000 km of three sections will be electrified during the ensuing financial year. The sections on which electrification work will be taken up are
Vizianagaram-Rayagada-

Titlagarh-Raipur, Rosa-Sitapur-Burhwal and Alwar-Rewari.
Feasibility studies will be taken up for other sections, she said.

Mamata said a Central Organization for Project Implementation (COPI) will be set up with offices in Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Bangalore to ensure timely project execution and proper utilization of funds allotted for works.

Highlights of Railway Budget 2011-12

No hike in passenger fare and freight rates.

Highest ever Plan outlay of Rs. 57, 630 crore proposed for Railways.

Rs. 9,583 crore provided for new lines.

Shahid Kapoor’s Birthday | 25th February

Shahid Kapoor may end up spending his 30th birthday today without his soul-mate Priyanka Chopra singing happy birthday to him. The actor, who is throwing a close door bash has reportedly 'split' with PC.

“Everyone made plans that I didn’t know about. It was quite annoying. Even my guest list was prepared. But no, the truth was there were no plans beyond the family.”

During his 30 years Shahid has only had a couple of birthday parties. “I had a party for my last birthday and it drove me nuts. If friends take over and have a party for me only then will I be part of it in future.”

His earliest memory of a birthday goes back to when he was 4 in Delhi. “It was in a two-bedroom apartment. As a child I’d embarrass my mom at my birthdays by snatching the gift from the guest opening it and expressing my pleasure/displeasure about the gift. They were very regular typical middleclass birthdays.”

PC, according to rumours, is in the US. Some say the actress is reportedly shaken up by the lukewarm box office reports of her latest release and she planned a quick getaway to America. She is expected to join the Don-2 schedule in Malaysia shortly. Though PC may not end up going to the bash, Shahid who was a regular at her home till a few days ago, has invited Priyanka's parents to attend his party. When they were seeing each other Shahid and PC were inseparable. From their New Year getaway in Goa to Priyanka landing up on Mausum's sets in Punjab, we have seen the two head-over-heels in love. Now rumours (sometimes these seem engineered) say PC will not be there at Sasha's do.

The chocolate boy Shahid Kapoor left his detractors blushing with his arresting performance in Jab We Met and Kaminey.

Behind the Scenes

Shahid Kapoor was born in Mumbai on 25 February 1981 to actors Pankaj Kapoor and Neelima Azeem, who divorced when he was three years old. His father married the actress Supriya Pathak. He has a brother Ruhan and sister Sana as well as a step-brother Ishaan.

Shahid and Kareena Kapoor, his long term girlfriend broke up just before the release of Jab We Met and since then he has been linked with several actresses like Amrita Rao and Vidya Balan. Shahid Kapoor and Kareena’s kiss was caught by a phone cam and created a controversy. He was also supposed to be dating Priyanka Chopra.

Top 10 Most Tasty Cuisines in the World

For all the food fanatics out there, traveling is essential, if you want to taste everything the world has to offer. That is why I have rounded up the most resounding symphonies of flavor, the most colorful dishes and the tasties bites. Here is your guide to the fascinating, international cuisines.

1. French Cuisine

Top 10 Most Tasty Cuisines in the World

Starting with the Middle Ages that brought rich banquets to the French Revolution, where refined techniques were used, French Cuisine can be called in the 21st century “haute cuisine”. It is as popular as the poetry or French arts, a meal at a restaurant comparing to “a sort of theatre you can eat”. Pastries are a large part of French cooking. Cheese and wine are also a major part of the cuisine, being perhaps the most famous of all. The modern restaurant has its roots in French culture so restaurants are bountiful, but as for recommendation before deciding on one. In Paris alone, there are over 5,000 places to eat, with prices and menus to suit anyone’s taste

2. Italian Cuisine

Top 10 Most Tasty Cuisines in the World
Perhaps one of the oldest in the world, the Italian cuisine can be traced back to the 4th century BC. It became what is today along with the discovery of the New World, that brought potatoes, tomatoes pepper or maize on the list of ingredients. An Italian meal is structured into several sections: antipasto (the appetizer), primo (pasta or rice dish), secondo (meat course), dolce (dessert). Italy is also famous for over 400 kinds of cheese, including the famous Parmigianino Reggiano, and 300 types of sausages.

3. Chinese Cuisine

Top 10 Most Tasty Cuisines in the World

Originated in various parts of China and now spread throughout the world, Chinese cuisine is now eaten by a third of the world’s population every day. The cuisine is easy to create, economical and tasty. Most of the food is prepared in bite-sized pieces because the Chinese culture regards knives and forks as weapons. Usually, every person at the table is given a bowl of rice while the other dishes are shared by everyone at the table. Some dishes are cooked from endangered species, such as facai moss while others from meat you would want to avoid such as dog.

4. Indian Cuisine

Rome Vacation Rentals are a great way to visit the beautiful, historic city without having to pay expensive hotel rates. Of course, that's only if you're willing to stay in a tiny studio apartment with hardly any amenities. If you want to stay in a fancy villa like the Appia Antica, you're going to have to pay through the nose. It will make luxury hotel rates seem like chump change. What if you want more than that though? What if you want to be able to experience the majestic Villa di Fiorano for just a short while and see what it's like to live like a king?
Fortunately, there are ways to stay in the fanciest Rome Vacation Rentals for less than you would pay to stay in a 3 star hotel, but it requires a little flexibility on your part. One option is to try to snatch up the last minute deals that become available and leave that night, though that's hardly the right way to start a vacation. Instead, you need to find the rental owners directly and make a deal through them. This is not nearly as hard as it seems, and could land you a week in a Roman Castle like the Monteporzio Villa, for the same rates you would pay for a studio apartment rental.
The key is to avoid rental agencies, because they have maximum profits in mind. Their goal is to make a ton of money at your expense, and they'll share a portion with the owner. However, by using sites like Facebook, you can very easily locate the owner and cut out the middle man. Since they do not lose any money in the deal, they have no problem allowing you to stay in their large home for the same amount they would be paid by the agency. The result is that you get to choose from the most amazing Rome Vacation Rentals like the 6 bedroom Campo de' Fiori, which comes with a mesmerizing balcony view of Piazza Cinque Scole.
